London Underground Tile

ARCHIVE #123

Architect Leslie Green brought a fresh and instantly recognisable look to the Underground with his green-glazed, Art Nouveau-style tiles. Used as a way to unify the transport system, the intricate tiles lined ticket halls in over 50 stations. Durable, easy to clean and understatedly beautiful, replicas still grace Belsize Park station today.
